Membership Billing & Cancellation Policy
Authentic Intellect Publications (“AIP”) offers membership programs that may include enrollment fees, installment payment options, annual membership terms, and membership benefits. This Membership Billing & Cancellation Policy explains how membership payments, installment billing, payment issues, voluntary cancellation, suspension of benefits, and membership reactivation are handled.
AIP believes membership billing should be clear and understandable. Members should be able to understand what they are agreeing to pay, when payments may be charged, how to cancel, and what happens to membership benefits after cancellation or a payment problem.
Membership Enrollment
Paid AIP memberships may require an initial enrollment fee. Depending on the membership program selected, the enrollment fee may be paid in full or through an available installment payment plan.
The available payment options, payment amounts, and number of installments are presented during membership enrollment before payment is submitted.
By selecting an installment payment plan, the member authorizes AIP and its payment processor to process the scheduled installment payments associated with that selected plan using the approved payment method on file.
Installment Payments
When an installment plan is selected, the first installment is processed as part of the initial membership enrollment. Remaining installments are scheduled according to the selected payment plan.
Installment payment amounts are based on the payment option presented and accepted during enrollment. Installment plans may have a total cost that differs from paying the enrollment fee in one payment.
AIP maintains payment records showing scheduled amounts, successful payments, failed payment attempts, and other payment activity associated with the membership.
Automatic Installment Billing
Members who choose an installment payment plan authorize the remaining scheduled enrollment installments to be charged automatically to the payment method associated with their membership.
AIP does not use automatic installment billing as a means of hiding charges or making cancellation unnecessarily difficult. Membership payment obligations, billing status, and cancellation options are intended to remain clearly available to the member.
A voluntary cancellation prevents AIP from intentionally initiating new automatic membership charges after the cancellation becomes effective. A transaction that has already been submitted for processing before cancellation may still complete, and an existing payment issue or previously attempted transaction may require separate resolution.
Failed or Declined Installment Payments
If an automatic installment payment is declined or cannot be completed, AIP does not immediately disable the member's account or immediately remove membership benefits.
The membership enters a communication period during which AIP will attempt to notify the member of the payment issue. The member is generally provided seven (7) days to respond.
During this initial communication period, membership benefits remain available.
Payment Resolution Period
If the member responds to a failed-payment notice and actively works with AIP to resolve the payment issue, AIP may place the membership into a payment resolution period.
An approved payment resolution period may continue for up to thirty (30) days, depending on the circumstances. Automatic payment attempts may be paused while an approved resolution is actively in progress.
If a payment issue is successfully resolved, AIP may extend the applicable membership term, paid-through date, expiration date, and annual renewal date by the actual approved resolution extension so that the member does not lose membership time because of an approved payment-resolution period.
An approved resolution extension will not exceed thirty (30) days.
Suspension for Unresolved Payment Issues
If a member does not respond within the applicable communication period, or if a payment issue remains unresolved beyond an approved resolution period, AIP may suspend the membership benefits associated with that membership.
Suspension of membership benefits does not disable or delete the member's general AIP account.
A suspended member may still be able to sign in to the AIP website, view appropriate account information, and work with AIP to resolve the membership billing issue, but benefits available only through an active membership may not be available during suspension.
Voluntary Membership Cancellation
Members may voluntarily cancel their membership. AIP does not require members to continue a membership simply to avoid a difficult or hidden cancellation process.
When a membership is voluntarily cancelled, the cancellation does not immediately remove membership benefits that have already been paid for. The member continues to receive the applicable membership benefits through the membership's current paid-through date.
The membership will not be renewed automatically after a voluntary cancellation.
When the paid-through date is reached, membership benefits end and the membership becomes cancelled. The member's general AIP account remains available.
Paid-Through Membership Access
AIP distinguishes between cancelling future membership billing and removing benefits that have already been paid for.
A voluntary cancellation therefore does not normally shorten the member's existing paid membership term. Benefits remain available through the applicable paid-through date unless another condition, such as misuse of the service or another applicable policy violation, independently requires restriction.
Membership Reactivation
After a voluntarily cancelled membership reaches the end of its paid-through term, the member may be eligible to reactivate the same membership during a thirty (30) day reactivation window.
A successful voluntary reactivation begins a new membership term and restores the applicable membership benefits.
Reactivating a membership does not automatically enable automatic annual renewal.
Reactivation Limit
The same membership may be voluntarily reactivated a maximum of three (3) times.
After three successful voluntary reactivations have been used, a subsequent voluntary cancellation may still remain effective through the member's paid-through date, but the membership will no longer be eligible for another same-membership reactivation.
If the member wishes to return after the three permitted reactivations have been used and the membership later ends, a new membership enrollment is required.
Annual Membership Renewal
Annual membership renewal is currently handled separately from automatic enrollment installment billing.
AIP does not automatically enable annual renewal merely because a member enrolled through an installment plan, resolved a failed payment, or reactivated a previously cancelled membership.
Any future automatic annual renewal option offered by AIP will be disclosed separately and will require the member to receive clear information about the renewal terms.
Membership Status and Benefit Availability
AIP attempts to make the member's current membership and billing status understandable. Depending on the circumstances, a membership may be active, in a payment communication or resolution period, suspended, scheduled for cancellation, or cancelled.
When membership benefits are unavailable because of cancellation, suspension, expiration, or another membership status, AIP intends to clearly identify why those benefits are unavailable rather than presenting the loss of access without explanation.
Refunds
Membership enrollment fees, installment payments, renewals, and other membership payments are also subject to AIP's Refund Policy.
Cancellation of a membership does not by itself create an automatic right to a refund for membership time, enrollment fees, installment payments, or services already provided.
Questions involving duplicate charges, incorrect charges, approved refunds, or other payment corrections will be handled according to the applicable AIP policies and the circumstances of the transaction.
Changes to This Policy
AIP may update this Membership Billing & Cancellation Policy as membership programs, payment options, or billing procedures change.
Material changes affecting existing memberships will be handled in a manner consistent with applicable law and the membership terms in effect at the time of the applicable transaction or renewal.
